Spring Beauty :: Hair Removal with Veet Natural Inspirations

written by Natalie Ho 2014.04.29

Hello! As part of my multi-post Spring Beauty Segment, I want to now talk about hair removal (if you missed my hair and skincare post, be sure to check it out!). Getting ready for Spring (and Summer) obviously includes prepping your skin for stubble-free smoothness.

I generally opt for shaving. Though it is a quick solution for hair removal, it only leaves my skin stubble-free for a few short hours. Why, you ask? Shaving literally chops off the hair’s end, leaving a sharp edge on the end of each hair. These sharp ends lie right at the surface of the skin, therefore as soon as your hair start to grow again, it leaves the sharp edges exposed. If you’re hoping for an alternative solution, creams and wax yield much better results when it comes to long-lasting smoothness.

This Spring, I’ve decided to once again give Veet’s hair removal solutions a try (If you recall, last Summer, I reviewed the Veet EasyWax Electric Roll-On product). Keep reading to see my full review.

Veet natural Inspirations review

Veet’s new line of hair removal products, Natural Inspirations, includes a full range of solutions for your face and body. This line of products is moisturizing, made with a sensitive formula and natural ingredients such as Shea Butter, Aloe, or Avocado Oil – may I mention, I would consume all three of these ingredients in my diet?!

1. Wax Strips – with natural Aloe Vera

The Veet Natural Inspirations Wax Strips are most suitable for use on legs and body. These wax strips are made with natural Aloe Vera and smell refreshing. I tried these on my legs that were about five days from shaving and the wax strips removed the stubbles easily with minimum pain.

I prefer using these wax strips to the roll-on applicator; I personally find the application much easier to control. Each box comes with 20 wax strips and four finish wipes that remove the wax residue from your skin, leaving it smooth and soft.

2. Facial Cream Kit

The Veet Natural Inspirations Facial Cream Kit includes one 50 ml tube of Hair Removal Cream and one 50 ml Gentle Finishing Cream. Both products are made with a sensitive formula and infused with a fragrance inspired by nature, which is fabulous for Spring!

These products are recommended for use on the face but away from the eyes and ears. I tried the hair removal cream on my upper lip using the spatula applicator included in the kit. The results were just as indicated on the package—after just 5 minutes the hair wiped off very easily.

I washed my face and applied the finishing cream. It was that easy! I much prefer this removal solution to using a facial razor, as it can be very damaging to the skin.

3. Sugar Wax – with Natural Argan Oil

First off, I want to say, this thing smells incredible! I had the urge to dip my finger in and taste it! I’ve never used wax in a jar like this before. So this was something new for me to try. It’s also suitable for use on many areas (except for your face, that is).

I heated the wax up in the microwave for about 40 seconds and used the special spatula included to test the temperature. I then applied the wax on a small area of my arm and gave it a go.

Comparing this to the wax strips, I prefer the wax strips only due to convenience. However, I found that the hot sugar wax yielded slightly better results from a hair removal perspective.

Veet Sugar Wax

Overall, I enjoyed trying Veet’s new natural inspirations line of products. Though I can’t say I’ll put my razor down forever,  I’ll be incorporating Veet’s new products into my hair removal regimen primarily due to ease of use, long-lasting stubble-free smoothness, and natural ingredients.

I’m curious to hear what your most preferred hair removal solution is? Have you tried some of Veet’s existing array of products? What are some of your thoughts?

Be sure to check my recent Beauty posts to get head to toe ready for Spring (and Summer)!

Introducing new Veet Natural Inspirations, a full range of hair removal solutions for your face and body, made with natural ingredients like Shea Butter, Aloe or Avocado Oil. Veet waxes reveal stubble-free smoothness for up to 28 days and Veet creams provide smoothness that lasts up to 2X longer than shaving, all while leaving your skin beautifully moisturized.
