Beauty :: How to Plump Your Skin

written by Natalie Ho 2018.06.27

Worrying about wrinkles, loss of volume and skin elasticity used to feel lights years away. But did you know beginning in your mid-twenties, your skin starts to loose that bouncy, plumpy feeling and once you hit the bit 3-0, aging skin concerns continue to progress, rapidly.

Now that I’m officially in my mid-thirties, sticking to a reliable and effective anti-aging skincare routine has become a top priority on my self-care list! Whether you’re still in your twenties or have joined me in the thirties club, there are many simple ways you can adjust your daily routine to get that oh-so-good plumpy feeling.

Today, I’m here to to share three of my best (little) secrets!

Eat the Right Stuff

Having great skin is not only attributed to the stuff you put onto it, but a huge factor is dependent on what you put inside of yourself. Are you eating right and staying hydrated? If your main skin concern is volume, elasticity, and plumpiness, then eating plenty of collagen boosting foods will certainly help! There are plenty or fruits and vegetables out there that are collagen boosting in nature. Red fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes and peppers are natural sun protectors which reduces skin from being damaged while increasing collagen levels. Fruits and veggies that are high vitamin C such as dark green ones have the power to fight against enzymes that that destroy collagen, so ladies, add that extra handful of spinach into your smoothie next time! My go-to though, are definitely berries! Strawberries are also a great source of vitamin C, and one cup of these bad boys contain over 100 percent of your daily vitamin C intake!

Try Hyaluronic Acid

There are so many anti-aging products on the market and each one is unique at targeting a specific area of concern. Since we’re chatting about achieving (or regaining) that beautiful natural plump in this post, I’d like to introduce you to La Roche Posay‘s latest anti-aging dermatological innovation: Hyalu B5 (a combination of hyaluronic acid molecular weights and vitamin B5), which was formulated to replump and repair.

For those of you who have been following along, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of La Roche Posay’s products. They’re best known on the market to be the #1 brand recommended by dermatologists and their products are suitable for all skin types, from normal to those who have very sensitive skin. I’ve recommended many of their products to friends that have major sensitive skin, skin conditions, and even their little babies, and have heard nothing but stories on the positive efficacy. The Hyalu B5 range of two products (the serum and daily care) is no different. Both products are suitable for all skin types and you’ll start to see the difference in under two weeks.

Massage or Use a Jade Roller

Now that I’ve shared what to put on and what to put in, here is my last little trick to achieving healthy, plumpy looking skin – massage your face! A little daily massage can go a long way. And if you’re interested in getting a little bit more fancy, grab yourself a facial jade roller! Massaging (or rolling) your face can help increase collagen production and lymphatic drainage, plus, it just feels darn good!

You can massage your face while applying the Hyalu B5 serum by working the product into your face, remember to focus on areas under your eyes, cheekbones, around your nose and jawline! If you’re keen on using a facial roller, store it in your fridge for a nice, chilled sensation!

I hope you found a these anti-aging skin repair tips useful and if you’re interested in trying the Hyalu B5 range, enter this contest for your chance to win one of 100 bottles of Hyalu B5 Serum! Best of luck!
