With Mother’s Day coming this Sunday, I couldn’t help but to reflect on what my mom and I have in common. I would like to think that I inherited some of my mom’s best traits, such as loyalty, kindness and someone that values family and friends. The one thing I am sure of is that my mom and I both enjoy a good bargain. For special occasions such as Mother’s Day, she never asks for gifts and always prefer that my sister and I save up what we have. Shopping for my mom is a tough task because it’s got to be a good bargain!
Pulling together a special gift certainly doesn’t have to be costly, I decided to challenge myself to a style savings spree at the DIXIE Outlet Mall, where I snatched up some really great items (at discounted prices) and curated what I call a Mother’s “Day-Off” Gift Box because every mom out there deserves a day off this Sunday!

I picked up a number of items from DIXIE Outlet Mall that were inline with my theme of relaxation and wellness. Moms work so hard, so they absolutely deserve to be pampered.
Gift Box Shopping List:
- Robe/House Coat from La Vie en Rose
- Spa like items such as soap, head massager and facial sheet masks from Fruits & Passion
- Candle, face wash cloth, and face cream from WINNERS
- Extra special accessories such as a statement necklace and fancy perfume from WINNERS
Be creative when it comes to putting your gift box together! Try different combinations and configuration so that the items can be presented in the most visually appealing manner. I used the robe and wash cloth to build a foundation for the rest of the items. Then started to showcase the other, more fragile items on top.
Include a handwritten note card and finish off with final touches such as some ribbon and tulips on top! I bet your mom will be so delighted to receive such a thoughtful and personalized gift. Best of all, these items can be found at discounted prices at the DIXIE Outlet Mall.
I hope you’ve got something great planned for Mom this weekend, if you are still scratching your head for ideas, try your hand at your own gift box! What about these themes – Gourmet Chef, Fashionista Mom, or DIY Crafter?!
