Travel :: How to Pack for the Honeymoon

Honeymoon Packing

We are just over a month away until we head off to our honeymoon! I’m so excited to take some time off and spend some time with the hubby! It was a tough decision in terms of picking our locations for our trip, but after several elimination rounds, we finally decided to tour a few European cities. I’m so excited to explore Prague, Budapest, and the Greek Islands of Mykonos and Santorini, and finishing up with a pit stop in London.

With several cities on the docket and two weeks away from home, packing for this honeymoon will certainly require some thinking through. On one hand I want to pack a variety of clothing items to suit every (un)foreseeable situation, but on the other hand, I also want to reduce the amount of bags to avoid additional baggage fees. Decisions, decisions.

How To Guide :: Choosing the Right Mukluks

How to Choose the Right Manitobah Mukluks

I’ve got a thing of furry, comfy, beautiful boots. Manitobah Mukluks is one of my favourite brands to shop for warm boots. Admittedly, I’ve got a few pairs. Aboriginal-owned and proudly Canadian, Manitobah Mukluks‘ heritage story began thousands of years ago. In addition to its history, craftsmanship, and the quality of their boots, I’ve just simply fallen in love with the style and comfort of them. I’ve been asked several times while sporting my Kanada Mukluks whether my feet get cold or wet in the snow. The truth is … it depends. If I make the mistake of wearing them in the wrong climate, yes, my feet do get wet. That led me to investigate just how do you go about choosing the right Mukluk for the right climate? In turns out, Waneek Horn-Miller, Dean of The Storyboot School, had a whole series of answers for me. For us Canadians […] Read the full article →

Style Tip :: Details to Look for in this Season’s Ankle Boots

Fall 2014 Fashion Boots

Hope you had a great weekend! I apologize for being a tad quiet last week. I was in Boston for a work conference and it occupied my time more than I’d hope! I’m back to normal schedule this week and looking forward to bringing you some great posts! Fall is upon us and I am thrilled to stock my closet up with booties galore! For some reason, I’m always on the search for the perfect ankle boot, aren’t you?

Ankle boots are a must-have in any season, but they’ve really come into their own this year. Managing to straddle the line between sophistication and edginess, ankle boots are able to take you from a casual daytime look to a night out on the town. Choose a pair with a killer heel to wear to the office or a dressed down pair of motorcycle boots for weekend lounging. You’ll have plenty of ankle boots to choose from this fall, but the following are a few key trends to be on the lookout for.

DIY + Style :: “A Day in Paris” with Shop for Jayu

Shop for Jayu FW 4

Bonjour! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I was vacationing in Boston last week and it was a super unforgettable trip! Kyle asked me to marry him during a romantic gondola ride. I was so surprised and it was a magical moment for us. I can’t wait to start planning our special day but we’ll take the rest of August to enjoy our time as a newly engaged couple, so exciting!

Now, back to this post! Last week, I shared some photos from my Shop for Jayu FW 2014 look book shoot. As promised, here are the remaining photos which by far are my most favourite. Since visiting Paris for the first time earlier this year, I have fallen in love with the Parisian culture. I put together this concept as how I imagine my perfect “day in Paris” to be. What can beat a day strolling through the Eiffel Tower with french macarons in hand sporting a beautiful outfit and a SUPER DUPER high top bun (thanks to the most talented Allison Kam)?!!!

For the life size DIY Eiffel Tower, I literally took a paint brush, some black paint and scribbled it on the back side of a roll wrapping paper. I loved the way it turned out, it totally pulled everything together. This would be a perfect addition to a Parisian themed bridal shower or party!

Shop for Jayu Spring Cleaning Event

One of the best ways to add colour to your wardrobe is definitely accessories. I love a big colourful statement necklace and bracelets to add colour to glam to what may be a basic outfit. Even a simple white blouse and denim can dressed up with a sparkly statement necklace or chandelier earrings, the options are just endless! If you don’t have the budget to acquire too many pieces, a great way to change things up is to layer multiple pieces or transform them into new ones (that’s the DIY DNA in me speaking to you).

If you’re interested in adding new beautiful accessories to your Spring wardrobe at a fraction of the price, swing by at Shop for Jayu’s Annual Spring Cleaning Event where you can save 40-70% off! I’m so thrilled to be hosting this event with Shop for Jayu at Get Gelled Nail Bar on April 26. I’ll be showing shoppers how to REFRESH & RENEW their jewelry box by layering pieces, wearing them in multiple ways, and applying some simple DIY skills to create new looks!

Style Tip :: Jewelry {Shoelery} for your Shoes

Shoelery_Review_2

You know the feeling of a kid in a candy store?! Well… that’s how I feel about shoelery by erica giuliani shoe clips! Genius idea, super cute, and uber versatile. I am totally smitten by these two pairs of bow shoe clips I got from shoelery and have been brainstorming different ways of wearing them since they arrived.

Of course the simplest way to wear these shoe clips is to clip them to the front of your heels or flats, but I decided to try a couple of alternatives to show you just how versatile they are.
