Food & Drink :: Nespresso Bar at Taste of Toronto

by Natalie Ho 2016.06.24

It’s going to be a hot one in Toronto this weekend! If you’re looking for something fun to do with friends and family, the Taste of Toronto is in full effect and for you foodies out there, you’re not going to want to miss this! I was invited to join Chef Victor Barry and Master Sommelier Elyse Lambert at a private coffee & food pairing event yesterday with NESPRESSO, the official coffee sponsor of Taste of Toronto and had the opportunity to enjoy the ultimate tasting experience and launch of NESPRESSO’s newest and most intense Grand Cru of the Lungo family – Envivo Lungo.

As a proud member of the NESPRESSO Coffee Connoisseur Club for the past several months, I’ve had the chance to taste and learn about the variety of intensities, notes, and flavours that NESPRESSO coffee has to offer. I’ve also come to share their appreciation of combining exceptional coffee with excellent food, these two elements really do go hand in hand.

Reliving our First Dance with #ThisMoment

by Natalie Ho 2015.10.14

Most couples have a ‘song’, for Kyle and I, we never had a ‘song’ for the few years we dated. When it came time to find a song for our wedding dance, I thought the song selection process was going to require quite a bit of effort seeing that we never had a ‘song’, but to my surprise, the both of us unanimously (and simultaneously) made the decision of picking Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” as the special song for our wedding night.

In early June when Ed Sheeran scheduled his concert in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre, I tried to purchase tickets as a romantic way to gear up for our big day. As you would imagine, tickets sold out right away, and no dice for me! But thanks to American Express Canada, we were able to enjoy the Ed Sheeran concert this past weekend with Front Of The Line reserved ticket allotment and relived our first dance (how romantic!).

If you’re looking to score tickets to the next hot show or event I encourage you to explore the perks of being a American Express Cardmember. As an Amex Cardmember, you have access to Front Of The Line presales, reserved ticket allotments, Delights experiences as well as exclusive benefits at special venues across the country.  You can also check out www.AmexInvites.ca to learn more about some of the hottest upcoming events! For now, check out some photos I snapped at the concert and of course a photo of our first dance from our wedding!

Thanks to my friends at American Express Canada for letting us relive #ThisMoment!

DIY Event :: Do Denim Your Way with Joe Fresh

by Natalie Ho 2014.08.20

Hello! So excited to share a little project I’ve been working on with Joe Fresh, just in time for back to school and the upcoming Fall season! When I think Fall, I think denim. I think about all the different types of new colours, styles, and cuts that get introduced in and around the Fall season.

I LOVE DIY-ing denim (some of my favourite past DIY Denim projects here and here). There is so much you can do yourself with denim and it’s insanely easy to achieve expert results all on your own!

I’m absolutely thrilled to be hosting a “Do Denim Your Way” DIY in-store event with Joe Fresh this coming Saturday, Aug 23 at their Queen and Portland, Toronto location from 11:30 a.m. -1:oo p.m. The first 100 people to make an in-store denim purchase that day will receive their very own DIY kit to get started with one of these 3 looks – Distressed, Studded, or Stenciled.

Giveaway for Wine Lovers :: Pre-Summer Solstice c/o iYellow Wine Club

by Natalie Ho 2014.05.29

Kyle and I were invited by Sarah from iYellow Wine Club for a private event at their Wine Cave earlier this week. I had NO idea that this place existed as it is hidden behind a building through an alley way on Queen St. W in Toronto. We were invited that night to sample a Spanish Brut – Cava Hills and also decadent Spanish tapas from SLICED. It was such a treat as I haven’t had much Spanish affair since our visit to Spain last year!

This was my first time introduced to iYellow Wine Club – a wine community of close to 10,000 members who love wine. How did I NOT know about this until now? I’m no wine connoisseur but I do love drinking it! I’ve come to learn a thing or two about wine in the last several years. Some of my favourites are from Spain and Italy however, we do make a trip out to Niagara on the lake once a year and enjoy the lovely local wines Ontario has to offer. Membership is free and members receive invites to wine events, wine tours and wine school classes all year around. iYellow is a place where you can taste wines from all over the world. Learn about why you love the wines that you do meet other wine lovers!

Eventful Weekends in the City

Lifestyle :: Eventful Weekends in the City

by Natalie Ho 2014.05.23

This past winter was brutally cold. We spent most of our weekends snuggling up indoors but now that the warmer weather is upon us, we’re back in full swing when it comes to planning eventful, yet affordable weekends in the city.

We moved into the Beaches area just as summer was ending last year and didn’t get a chance to see what the neighborhood had to offer. I’ve heard from many nearby dwellers that the Beaches transforms as the months start to get warmer. I’m so excited to plan my upcoming weekends in this family-friendly, dog-friendly, and just good ol’ friendly community.

Event {and Giveaway} :: Shop for Jayu Annual Spring Cleaning Event

by Natalie Ho 2014.04.17

One of the best ways to add colour to your wardrobe is definitely accessories. I love a big colourful statement necklace and bracelets to add colour to glam to what may be a basic outfit. Even a simple white blouse and denim can dressed up with a sparkly statement necklace or chandelier earrings, the options are just endless! If you don’t have the budget to acquire too many pieces, a great way to change things up is to layer multiple pieces or transform them into new ones (that’s the DIY DNA in me speaking to you).

If you’re interested in adding new beautiful accessories to your Spring wardrobe at a fraction of the price, swing by at Shop for Jayu’s Annual Spring Cleaning Event where you can save 40-70% off! I’m so thrilled to be hosting this event with Shop for Jayu at Get Gelled Nail Bar on April 26. I’ll be showing shoppers how to REFRESH & RENEW their jewelry box by layering pieces, wearing them in multiple ways, and applying some simple DIY skills to create new looks!
