I’ve observed two types of holiday decorators, those that go big as soon as Halloween is over or those that procrastinate until mid-December. Where do you fall within this spectrum?
As for me, I like to slowly introduce a few simple holiday inspired decorations in November as a way to ease into the holiday season and as Christmas begins to inch it’s way closer, I will continue to add statement pieces and transition into the full holiday spirit.
I’m sooooo stoked about today’s post because I’ve been working on this mudroom renovation for months now and I’m finally ready to reveal it!
When we renovated our kitchen last year, we sacrificed our entranceway closet so that we allowed enough space to move our fridge in place. It was always the plan that we would remodel our tiny “basement” into a useable mudroom.
Our barely-there basement was tucked away on the lower level of our townhome, and prior to the renovations, the room’s primary use was for the water heater, furnace, and essentially a storage space piled up with shoes and just about anything that didn’t belong on the upper floors. It was messy, cluttered, and non-functional.
As a content creator and someone who relies heavily on photography to inspire others, lighting plays a critical role in my line of work. I’m always looking for the optimal lighting when shooting photos or working on a creative project. But, regardless if you depend on lighting in your profession or not, we can’t deny that lighting affects many aspects of our lives.
Drum roll… I’m unveiling our newly renovated master bathroom!

I finally managed to pick up a few last minute accessories and voila, it’s complete! I was so thrilled when The Home Depot Canada and Delta Faucet agreed to partner with us on our master bathroom renovations. I know some of you have been following along, and our renovations was recently completed. Though I’m not quite ready for the big reveal, just yet but I wanted to share a glimpse of our inspiration with you!
Let me ask you a question, do you think that indoor air is better than outside air? Answer to that question is false because inside air pollution can be up to five times worse! Poor indoor air quality can be triggered in the home by some inconspicuous items such as scented candles, air fresheners, rugs, cushions and even cleaning supplies. And since we take 20,000 breaths a day, and much of that likely while we’re sleeping, means if you don’t have a proactive approach of purifying indoor air, you’re consuming a number of pollutants into your body.
I’ve owned my Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Link Purifier for nearly a year now (read my first review here) and I’m really happy with this device. Originally, I enjoyed the unit’s cooling and heating features, but over time, I’ve noticed the positive results of the purifying capabilities and when I’ve found ourselves most dependent on it.
If you ask any of my colleagues, family or friends, I’m always the one that’s cold at the office or at home. Regardless of time of year, I’m convinced that I’ve physically been wired to be a few degrees cooler than everyone else! At the office, you will often find a huge scarf draped over my shoulders, and at home, I’m always the one snuggled up with a giant faux fur throw.
The winter weather has really made its way to us, and I’m pretty sure that we won’t be experiencing a mild one in comparison to last year. Staying warm and toasty doesn’t mean you’ve got to crank up the heat (my husband will thank me for that!) or put your long johns on for bedtime stories!

Count down is on guys! Just a couple of weeks away from Christmas and I finally managed to start on my shopping list and the house is beginning to feel and look a bit more festive! Living in a townhouse with limited storage, I’m always reluctant to buy more seasonable decor. But during my visit to Bed Bath & Beyond over the weekend, I just couldn’t refrain from picking up a few of my favourite things!
I don’t typically decorate our bedroom with holiday trimmings but I was smitten by all the Cozy Shop mix and match options and ended up bringing home a few items that I am convinced we will be using throughout the winter season.

Since coming back from Iceland last week (and stay tuned for my FULL post on my trip coming up soon!) my house has been a complete disaster! The guestroom is piled up with laundry, the bedroom is covered in dust, the bathtub is full of soap scum and the kitchen? Don’t get me started! Dirty dishes in the sink, clean dishes trapped in the dishwasher and the list goes on.
