As you expose more skin, we already know that sun protection is very important during the summer months! However, applying sun protection is only one of many steps when it comes to a good summer skin care regimen.
During the summer, my T-zone gets extremly oily but due to sun exposure, other areas of my face tend to get dry and from time to time my skin may also flake and peel. I visited WINNERS to stock up on a variety of skin care products to fight my summer skin care challenges.
Cleanse and Moisturize
Sun and sweat is the main cause for clogged pores and acne. It is very important to ensure you cleanse your face twice daily and re-hydrate with moisturizers or creams that are suitable for your skin type.

When it comes to hydration, drinking 8 glasses of H20 is certainly a great start, but moisturizing twice daily is also vital to clear, smooth skin. Apply (and Reapply) Sunscreen
A simple rule for summer skin care is certainly the application of sunscreen! If you’re not sure if you should reapply, the chances are, you should! Many people take the first step in applying just prior to heading out, make it a habit to reapply every two hours if you’re exposed for long durations. After Sun Skincare – Exfoliate
After baring all the skin, exfoliation helps remove dead, flaking skin fragments as well as whiteheads and blackheads which causes congestion and clogging of pores. This is not only great routine for your face but I highly recommend exfoliating your entire body if you want to achieve that buttery, soft, skin kissed glow.
Face Exfoliation: I recommend purchasing an exfoliating scrub that is gentle for the face with finer grains. In terms of frequency, twice a week is recommended under normal conditions, however during the summer months, oily skin types may benefit from two times or more to offset the greater buildup of dead skin cells. Always remove make up and cleanse your face first before you proceed with this step. Wet your face with a clean wash cloth to soften up your skin. Apply your skin exfoliate and gently scrub the entire face (excluding the eyes), in a circular motion for one to two minutes. Remove excess with warm water, pat dry, tone, and moisturize!
Body Exfoliation: I recommend a natural sugar exfoliating scrub – these typically have a coarse texture, but they smell delicious and contain other natural moisturizing and hydrating ingredients. Incorporate this practice in hot shower. The steam from the shower will also allow the opening of the pores. Use an exfoliating wash cloth to apply the scrub to your entire body. I guarantee this will leave your skin, silky smooth and loveable. Be sure to moisturize with body butter, lotion, or oil of your choice!
