I love a little spice (or sometimes a lot!) in my food. I find spicy foods so warm and comforting. With the dreadful temperatures we’ve been experiencing this winter, all I can think about is snuggling up to a cozy, spicy bowl of stew or perhaps a hot spicy beverage such as this Chili Chocolate Latte for a change!
Are you a fellow art lover?
I’ve always been drawn to art. I am pretty sure I take after my Dad who has managed to unleash the artist in him by learning how to paint and since exhibiting at several local art fairs when he retired at the age of 65 from his steady government job.
What is your love story?
Everyone has a love story. And whether it has yet to be written, happily in progress, or a chapter has already ended, we can all agree that the journey of love, is a remarkable one.
In celebration of Valentine’s Day, I wanted to share my love story with you, how I met my husband, and a few important lessons I’ve learned along the way with the hope to spread more love today!
Has the thought of getting fillers injections cross your mind?
I’ve contemplated fillers injections myself but just like many other women out there (two thirds to be exact), resorting to injections and needles just isn’t something that entices me. It’s costly and to be honest, I fear of the ‘gone wrong’ potential or worst, perhaps developing some terrible allergic reaction to it. However, with the arrival of my 35th birthday this year, I’d be the first to admit that skin aging has become a priority concern.
Beverage (or bar) carts are often associated with the holiday season. But in my mind, a beverage cart is essential to home entertaining all year round. Whether you’re in the mood for a cocktail or a cup of afternoon tea, there are so many ways to integrate a bar cart into your living space that’s suitable for anyone!
I struggled for quite some time in finding the perfect bar cart. I was never quite happy with the options because they were either too wide, too glitzy, didn’t have enough storage or just way too expensive. That led me to hack my own version a few years ago. Though my DIY version held its own after countless house parties, it was finally due for an upgrade.
Who else loves printed calendars (like this one)?!
There are so many beautiful ones. They are so pretty that I often want to frame them into art pieces!
The other day, I had a genius idea while starring at the broken IKEA art frame tucked behind my shelf. I remembered that the glass was shattered when the frame dropped while moving and I had thought to myself, “keep it! I’ll find a way to re-purpose it!”. Fast forward 3 years later, I finally found great use for it.
How well do you know your skin?
I’ve always been under the impression that I have dehydrated skin. Unless the signs are clearly visible, how would I know for sure? And more importantly, how do I know what to combat? I can’t tell you how many times (skincare or not) I thought I was struggling with one type of condition and ended up purchasing a ton of products and treatments to help correct it, only to find out that it was something entirely different.
It’s the beginning of 2018 and we’re once again starting to plan out our next home reno/makeover project! This year, we’re deciding between a full home office makeover or re-designing our guest room. Exciting, right?!
When we moved into our townhouse a few years ago, we knew we’d tackle a reasonable renovation each year, rather than ripping the entire house apart in one shot. Part of the reason was because the house really didn’t NEED any renovation at all. And secondly, it allowed us to live in our space for awhile in order to truly understand what our needs and preferences were as opposed to approaching the projects impulsively. The added benefit of a phased approach is that we became more experienced with each decision made and learned new things along the way.
A bit of Spring weather decided to make an appearance after the brutally low temperatures we’ve been experiencing and I know that it’s not going to last for long as we anticipate the extreme cold front to arrive this weekend.
Making the best of this above freezing weather, I was finally able to swap the down-filled jacket and clunky winter boots with this luxe fur cocoon pullover, wool coat, and over-the-knee boots.
Interested in improving your photography or editing skills in 2018?
Happy New Year friends! My first blog post of 2018 and I thought I’d kick it off with some goal-getting content! As a creator that relies heavily on the quality of my photos to capture YOUR attention, learning how to not only take great photos but how to edit them is equally critical.
When I decided to pursue blogging professionally five years ago, the first thing I did was enroll myself (and my husband, aka my part time photographer) in a proper photography class. I can’t tell you how much Kyle and I learned from the Photo 101 Class we attended at GTA Photography. We literally went from not knowing how to operate a DSLR camera to shooting with it on manual mode (properly) ever since.
