DIY :: Celebrating My Sister with DIY Photo Gift Wrap

by Natalie Ho 2015.04.27

For Mother’s Day this year, I want to celebrate and pay special tribute to my older sister. Rufina and I are five years apart and at a young age, I’ve always looked up to her, and observed all her life experiences. Like most siblings, we played, we talked, and we argued and fought. It is safe to say that, during my teenage, rebellion years, I didn’t see eye to eye with her.

As I grew and matured into my twenties, I had the pleasure of observing her grow from my sister to a mother. Having not yet started a family of my own, I’ve learned first-hand from her that being a mother is not easy. It requires love, care, patience, endurance, perseverance, and selflessness, all characteristics my sister has come to be an expert at since motherhood. I have so much respect for her and this Mother’s Day, I’d like to celebrate not only our mom, but especially her.

To showcase the many wonderful qualities and features my sister exudes, I decided to create something fun for her this Mother’s Day. The mother is always the one behind the camera, so this year I curated a handful of photos of her and produced this DIY photo wrapping paper using the BLACKS website.

Lifestyle :: Recreating Precious Moments with BLACKS Shoebox Service

by Natalie Ho 2015.03.30

How many of you love to flip through old photo albums from time to time? I know I do! I visited my parents over the holiday season and they seriously must have hundreds and hundreds of printed photos tucked away neatly on their shelves. I love perusing through them, especially pictures of them when they were young, and those of my sister and I when we were little wee ones. It is incredible how a camera can capture so many precious memories for us.

Keep reading to learn how to digitize your old photos!

Home Decor :: Photos as Art with BLACKS

by Natalie Ho 2014.05.20

A couple of weeks ago, BLACKS invited me to visit their new concept store at Yonge and Eglinton and I got a chance to see some of their newest products and instant photo printing services. The generous team at BLACKS also surprised me with a printed canvas of one of my favourite Instagram photos from my recent trip to Paris!

If you’re not able to make a trip into the store (though I highly recommend it, especially to one of their new concept stores), they’ve recently created a super app, called BLACKS, which is a one-stop shop for printing and creating on-the-go. During my visit, I downloaded the app at the store and printed 20 of my Instagram photos on the spot. I am still trying to figure out how I’d like to display them all but they’ve got tons of ideas “Made for Instagram“.

I obviously took this opportunity to do some updates to my home office with this newly piece of photo art and some of my Instagram photos! What do you think?
