Wedding Planning 101 :: Engagement Shoot Sneak Peek

by Natalie Ho 2015.05.12

Hello! I had the best low key birthday weekend and much of the day shooting our beach themed engagement photos in Jordan. I don’t want to give too much away but here are a few photos we snapped using my phone. These are not to be mistaken as the actual photos shot by our talented photographers, Afterglow Images, the actual photos to come in a few weeks! I can’t wait to share them with you then! Oh, also, did I mention how happy I was with my beach inspired outfit?!

In the meantime, enjoy these few taken with my phone and have a wonderful start to your week!

It’s incredible how quickly time flies, isn’t it?! We are now officially stepping into the last two months until our big day and holy smokes, I’ve still got lots to do! The good news is, we managed to check many items off the list since I provided a detailed update in my last post, and I’m happy to once again share with you our progress. We definitely accomplished some big tasks in the last few weeks, and though there’s more to go, I’m also feeling relieved!

Wedding :: New Orleans Wedding Style Shoot

by Natalie Ho 2015.04.06

A couple of months ago, Kyle and I were approached by Karen and Megan of Frou Frou House to partake in a New Orleans inspired Wedding Style shoot. We certainly jumped at the opportunity as an excuse to give us some practice before our own engagement and wedding shoot. I’m excited to finally share the photos from the shoot and also thrilled that it was featured on Ruffled Blog last week!

DIY :: Wedding Invitation Envelope Liners

by Natalie Ho 2015.03.17

Hello! I can’t believe how quickly our wedding is coming up! With just 3 months away, it means major crunch time! A very important task for us to tackle this month is sending out our Wedding Invitations!!! There are so many beautiful and inexpensive options out there but we opted for a custom design. I met Sarah of Love Love Me Do months ago and had my heart set on working with her on a custom design (oddly enough, Sarah is getting married on the same day as us!).

Our invites have been in the works for a while and I’m super excited to finally share our final product with you! I hoped for a design that combined modern with classic as well as femininity with a touch masculinity, I truly believe we hit the mark and happy to see my vision come to life.

One special feature we tackled were decorative envelope liners. I am obsessed with them! Although it added some extra time to the assembly process, it was well worth it.

Plus, how could I have possibly gotten away with not DIYing ONE item for our wedding invitations?! Read further to learn how to create your own wedding invitation envelope liners.

Wedding Planning 101 :: The WedLuxe Wedding Show

by Natalie Ho 2015.01.13

I had the fine pleasure of attending this year’s WedLuxe Wedding Show at Toronto’s Arcadian venue this past weekend. The show was a major feast for the eyes, I was completely surrounded by oodles and oodles of beautiful wedding inspiration.

Most of you who have been following my wedding planning journey already know that I have 95% of my vendors booked for our big day. It now comes down to ironing out every single detail for the show and the WedLuxe Wedding Show definitely had me leaving with bundles of ideas.

If you’re looking for Toronto’s best wedding vendors, I HIGHLY recommend you to invest in this show, and this show only. Every guest who attended the show left with a designer tote bag valued at $150, hand picked stemmed roses from The Celestine Flower Market presented by Frank Rea, Forget Me Not Flowers, and a copy of the brand new issue of WedLuxe Magazine.

I’ve been to several wedding shows in the past, and I promise you that The WedLuxe Wedding Show is worth the extra investment!

Wedding Planning 101 :: 4th & 5th Month

by Natalie Ho 2015.01.09

OMG … we’re just under 6 months away from the BIG day! I failed to report on my wedding planning progress in November, primarily because I really didn’t get much accomplished. Not because I was lazy, but much of what we needed to do in the first few months was behind us, and much of what we need to accomplish really just didn’t make sense to get moving on until closer to date. So, November and December were all about brainstorming and narrowing our wedding decor ideas. Trust me … magazines and Pinterest can help, but can also overwhelm!

Of course, I did have several items slated in for the 4th and 5th month (again, I’m working off a 9 month wedding planning schedule), and happy to say I did manage to check a few items off the list and a couple of surprise items that also got added.

Wedding Planning 101 :: Third Month

by Natalie Ho 2014.11.11

Hello! Today marks another installment of my Wedding Planning 101 series! Can’t believe three months have gone by and soon I’ll be hitting the 6 month mark! I feel a wave of excitement and nervousness at the same time. Though I’ve been able to check many things off the list these first few months, but figuring out all the intricate details is the part that will consume most of my time, energy, AND brain power. However, I’m totally looking forward to it!

If you’re new to reading about my wedding planning journey, I urge you to start from the beginning and read my past posts on “Wedding Planning 101“.

Here are the items I was able to accomplish in this 3rd month of wedding planning (a reminder, I’m working from a 9 month plan)! Best of luck to you if you’re starting yours!

Wedding Planning 101 :: Selecting a Wedding Gift Registry

by Natalie Ho 2014.10.22

Hey Hey! Hope you’re keeping well! Wedding planning has been going extremely well, not major hiccups so far and can’t wait to share my 3rd month’s progress in a couple of weeks time (be sure to catch my wedding planning task list from the last couple of months). Today, I want to chat a little bit about the topic of selecting a wedding gift registry. We haven’t done so ourselves yet, but I’ve came across a few options and wanted to see what you all thought!

The first question to ask is: Do we even need a Wedding Gift Registry?

Wedding Planning 101 :: Second Month

by Natalie Ho 2014.10.03

Hello! Another month flew by which means I accomplished another month of wedding planning tasks! Hooray! I got to say, I think I’m go a pretty good track, definitely checking off a good amount off the list and even got a little bit ahead in some other areas! If you’re just starting to plan your wedding, be sure to check out my post from last month, which happened to be my first month of wedding planning. Not only are you going to find my month by month task list in this Wedding Planning 101 series, I have and will continue to share some more details around specific wedding related things I’ve been working on, what vendors I’ve came across and what I’ve been successful (and not so successful) with.

Make sure you check back frequently whether you’re planning your own wedding or a dear friends’. I am happy to answer any questions or make any suggestions for you!

Wedding Planning 101 - Undergarments lingerie for wedding bridal dress gown shopping

Wedding Planning 101 :: Underthings for Dress Fitting

by Natalie Ho 2014.09.12

I’m so excited (and nervous) for my first bridal gown fitting appointments this Sunday! I booked two appointments, one at Felichia Bridal and the other at Ferra Sposa to start. I think I’ve got a clue as to what I’m looking for but honestly, every bride has told me you never know until you try a few different styles. I however, do have a few preferences when it comes to picking the perfect wedding dress – 1) I must be able to sit and walk around comfortably (meaning, no super long train or layers of crinoline underneath), 2)  beading, and 3) low back/backless.

When it comes to preparing for my bridal gown fitting, the one thing that came to mind was what am I going to wear ‘underneath”? I think wearing the appropriate bra/undergarments is so important when it comes to finding the perfect dress. I had the pleasure of visiting Avec Plaisir Fine Lingerie and Swimwear, located in the heart of Yorkville, Toronto, for a one of a kind lingerie fitting experience a couple of weeks ago, in time for my first bridal fitting visit!
