Last weekend, I hosted my two fellow Nespresso babes, Dani from Girls of TO and Esther of This Wild Heart for a fun (and coffee) filled afternoon at my home! I adore these two ladies, they often fuel my inspiration and I am so thrilled to collaborate with them on this month’s post. The three of us have been concocting all sorts of delicious Nespresso recipes via our respective blogs, but we really wanted to push the envelope this month and decided to join forces and see just how creative we can get! As we near the end of Summer, we wanted to center our recipes one last time on the limited release of Nespresso On Ice.

Last month, I introduced the new release of Nespresso Leggero on Ice and Intenso on Ice  to kick off your Summer, I must say, I’m still swooning over these two coffees! Now, as much as I like enjoying them over ice with some agave or simple syrup, I was curious just about how many varieties I could come up with.

Many of us tend to reserve bubbly and sparkling cocktails only for special occasions. However, I disagree! I believe everyday deserves a sparkling moment and I’ve come to really enjoy and appreciate the luxurious taste of La Marca Prosecco that embodies elegance yet versatility, which makes it the perfect choice to elevate any day of the week.

You all already know the love I have for Nespresso, I can barely go a day without a cup. But when it’s hot and humid outside, coupled with a broken air conditioner at home (it’s been over a week!), enjoying a steaming cup of coffee is not quite on the top of my morning to-do’s.

However, I’m super thrilled to share that my friends at Nespresso have come to the rescue with two Limited Edition release of coffees that have been specifically crafted to be enjoyed over ice. Intenso on Ice and Leggero on Ice are perfect to consume as black coffee but equally as delicious topped with cold milk.

I love picking up fresh pastries on the weekends. It’s seen as a “hey, you’ve worked hard all week, time for something special” kind of treat. If I was a skilled baker, I’d definitely prefer to make patches of goodies at home over buying them from the store.

However, baking to me has always been super complicated, lots of steps, many ingredients involved, and requires precision and patience. Which quite frankly I don’t have what it takes to perfect. But, I recently discovered the simplest (and tastiest) recipe for a stellar weekend delight thanks to my exclusive visit to the President’s Choice Test Kitchen!

As a coffee admirer, I’m always searching for new flavours and ways to enjoy my morning cup. It’s been several weeks since I shared a new coffee recipe and I’m eager to reveal today’s creation!

In early May, Nespresso launched Explorations 1, two exceptionally rare and distinctive limited editions of coffees originated from Kenya and Laos. Per Nespresso’s in-house coffee experts, these two extremely small batched coffees are considered ‘hidden gems’ due to their excellent taste profiles and the fact that they are Pure Origins – meaning they are sourced from a single farm or small group within a precise region.

We’ve all done it, accumulated ample ineffective and poor quality cooking tools that are likely past their shelf life over the years. It likely began when you kept those cheap items from your university days because you’re trying to save a few dollars, or decided to move in with your boyfriend (or girlfriend) and amalgamated a mishmash of your kitchen gadgets that barely worked (i.e. rusty can openers), sound all too familiar?

Well, guess what? You’re an adult now, and it’s time for an upgrade because keeping bad quality kitchen tools are not only a waste of space but if you’re looking to cook a delicious meal, having the right tools on hand is key!

I’m often asked where I find inspiration for my DIY projects. The truth is, just about anywhere and more often than not, around ordinary objects laying around the house. I could be starring at a lemon or a book cover and it’ll spark a thought in my head for my next project.

I was brewing my Nespresso coffee one Saturday morning and as I was refilling my empty glass bonbonniere with my favourite capsules, the pastel coloured ones particularly stood out to me. They reminded me of beautiful and delicate Easter eggs. 

Many of you wonder how I can manage a full time gig and my side hustle as a blogger. Well, the secret is … I start my workdays early (I’m at my desk by 7 am!) and I am always looking for ways to cut down any unnecessary time spent on getting ready or preparing meals.

However, it also means that on extremely lazy or dreary days, I’m not always looking my finest during the wee hours of the morning, and admittedly, I also find myself reaching for unhealthy lunch and snack options just for the sake of saving time.

Last month, I introduced Nespresso’s limited edition release of SELECTION VINTAGE 2014, an Arabica coffee that was harvested three years ago. The coffee endures an interesting taste of woodiness combined with fruity notes, and a velvety texture. And since it was recommended that this special breed of matured coffee was to be enjoyed black, I was inspired to pair it with the bold flavors of aged meats and cheeses.

I’ve learned from my time with fellow Nespresso coffee connoisseurs that, just like wine, coffee, when paired with food, can exhibit different flavours and aromas.
