Inspiration

by Blog Master on June 17, 2010

This post has nothing to do with Fashion, Beauty, or Travelling tips, but it was sent to us by a dear friend, and something that we would like to share with all our readers and customers! Feel free to send to those you care about around you, it will make their day!

Be inspired...

I Believe...

That just because two people argue, doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe...

That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe...

That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.

I Believe...

That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe...

That true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance.

Same goes for true love.

I Believe...

That you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.

I Believe...

That it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

I Believe...

That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe...

That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I Believe...

That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I Believe...

That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe...

That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I Believe...

That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe...

That my best friend and I can do anything, or nothing, and have the best time.

I Believe...

That sometimes the people you expect to kick you When you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe...

That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had, and  what you've learned from them.....and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe...

That it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others.

Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I Believe...

That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe...

That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

I Believe...

That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life Forever.

I Believe...

Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.

I Believe...

That your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you.

I Believe...

That even when you think you have no more to give, if a friend cries out to you...you will find the strength to help.

I Believe...

That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I Believe...

That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

I Believe...

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

They just make the most of everything.

Learn how to clean your UNII Palette: *Important notice: Please do not clean your palette with chemicals such as rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol, Windex, or other solvents. Please read the instructions below.

First, carefully remove the rubber gasket and steel (magnetic) plate at the bottom. Removing these and washing them separately will prevent the steel plate from scratching the paint off of the inner surfaces of the palette. The mirror is not removable. Please do not use chemicals or cleaning products containing isopropyl alcohol, ammonia, chlorine, or abrasive ingredients, and do not use rough towels or cloths to dry the plastic.

The gasket

The rubber gasket can be removed and washed in the sink with mild soap and water. Dry thoroughly before replacing.

The steel

The steel plate can be wiped down with a damp soft cloth. Make sure to fully dry the steel plate to prevent it from rusting.

The body

Carefully clean and wipe the palette with a damp soft cloth. Any abrasion or chemicals may result in removal of the paint on the inner surfaces. The mirror can be cleaned with a damp soft cloth, or with a mild soap if needed. Do not dunk your palette in water, doing so might result in water getting stuck behind the mirror.

Reassembly

Please make sure everything, especially the steel plate, is completely dry before reassembling your palette, because the steel can rust if water or moisture remains trapped between the steel and plastic case. First, carefully place the dry steel plate, painted side facing up. Next, carefully insert the rubber gasket into the groove along the perimeter of the case.

Tips for the "ladies"

by Blog Master on May 13, 2010

Summer is coming, time for sweaters, sweatshirts, and scarfs to hibernate. Here are a few tips and tricks from My Little Secrets to make your "ladies" look the greatest - keeping you sexy and feeling great in those summer dresses and sexy tops!

Want to enhance your cleavage? No problem, we've got a few solutions for you!

  1. To create the illusion of having more cleavage, apply and blend a little dark coloured bronzer to the area between your breasts where the cleavage is supposed to be. If you don't have a bronzer, try applying a little white powder on the top halves of your breasts first, then apply a dark eye shadow colour between them, remember to blend well!
  2. Think about flattering necklines that make the most of what you've got. Contour seaming, halternecks, and cross-your-heart necklines all enhance small bosom.
  3. A bustier or corset top is guaranteed to create a a cleavage where none exists, but make sure you don't overcompensate by choosing one that's too tight!
  4. Layer a regular bra with a sports bra to enchance your cleavage. A criss-cross back bra will also make them extra perky. Don't have a criss-cross back bra? Try My Little Secret's Perfect Cleavage Clips, they come in a pack of 9 for only $6.00 CDN. These are so easy to use, just clip them on your bra straps, and you're ready to go. Not only do they help enhance your cleavage, they are perfect to wear with T-strap or razor back tanks.

Don't want to go bra-less?
Wearing a backless top/dress but don't want to go bra-less because you still want the 'ladies' to stay perky and protected? No problem! Some tips and tricks for you!

  1. Traditionally, to solve this problem, we would purchase paper like breast adhesives to wear with our backless tops/dresses. But due to the fact that these applied on like band aids and tapes, it left a gross adhesive residue on our skin. As an alternative and cost effective solution, we suggest silicon nipple or breast adhesives to provide more support and protection from the "cold weather". These are generally available at drug stores or department stores.
  2. More recently, the nu-bra has become available to provide fuller coverage and support for our breasts. These are full-cup sized silicon adhesives (think just the front part of a bra) that stick on with minimal residue and can be worn several times if well kept. The problem with the nu-bras is that it is nude in colour and transparent at times, though providing coverage - it is just not hot and sexy!
  3. Exclusively at My Little Secrets, we are introducing a line of silicon "invisible" bras that are light weight (think feather-light), that are both sexy and provides great coverage and long lasting wear. Our silicon bras can be worn for up to 6 hours per use and re-used for up to 6 months worth of usage (cumulatively). It is easy to apply, with a front clasp that can be adjusted to push your "ladies" closer or wider apart creating more definition when desired. The bras are easy to clean - apply a cloth with soap after each use and protect with a thin plastic wrap. Our bras are available for $25-$30 CDN in a variety of size, colours, and styles (compare to those at lingerie specialty stores for $60+). They are sexy and functional! Perfect for the bride-to-be and her bridesmaids!

Bikini Ready Beauty Secrets

by Blog Master on May 04, 2010

Putting on a bikini after a long winter doesn’t have to be a painful event. Here’s how to be bikini ready this season!

Soften Your Skin
The number one way to make dry, dull, pasty skin look radiant and smooth is the exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. Use a gentle boday scrub every day in the shower. To boost its effectiveness, rub it on using circular motions, spending a few extra seconds on rough spots like knees, elbows, and feet. An oil-based version will give you extra hydration.

Beat Body Acne
Don’t let eruptions on your back, shoulders, chest, or butt force you to eliminate slinky tops and skimpy bikinis from your warm-weather wardrobe. To ward off new spots while dealing with existing ones, start this daily blemish-busting regimen: First, cleanse the offending areas with a body wash that contains salicylic acid. Let the cleanser sit on your skin for a few minutes before rinsing it off so you can reap all the antiacne benefits. Postshower, spot-treat your zits with the same drying potion that you use on your face.

Tackle Your Feet
Don’t forget about your feet when you’re prepping for bikini season. Here’s an easy way to get them in flip-flop shape fast: Submerge your feet in a large bowl of equal parts warm milk and water. The lactic acid naturally eats away at dead skin. Rather use a premade version? After five minutes, buff away any calluses and rough spots with a pumice stone, then rub in a foot cream that has alpha hydroxy acid to soften the skin even more. If it’s nighttime, slip on a pair of cotton socks immediately after applying the cream and wear them while you sleep. You’ll wake up with the smoothest feet ever.

Take Your Time with Hair Removal
A smooth set of legs and underarms and a flawless bikini line are essential for warm weather. But be sure to execute your hair removal the day before you slip into your swimwear to give your skin some downtime. Start every shaving session with a hot shower or bath to soften your hair so it’s easier to remove. For the silkiest results, exfoliate with a gentle body scrub, then lube up with a moisturizing cream and use a fresh, sharp three- or four-blade razor to whisk away the hair. Cut down on irritation by relathering an area if you are going over it a second time. If you have the patience and the pain threshold, consider waxing your legs, which will keep you bare for up to a few weeks. Work on small sections at a time with precoated strips.

Get Your Glow Going
If your entire body is ghostly pale, warm it up with a gradual self-tanner. Your skin should peak in five to seven days; afterward, apply the lotion every other day to maintain your glow. If you want a tanned look right now, your best bet is a tinted body bronzer that sticks around until your next shower. For something with more staying power, try a regular sunless tanner. The trick to streak-free results: spread the product on with uniform swipes in all directions. For knees, elbows, and ankles, dilute the tanner with moisturizer to ensure the dry skin in these areas don’t turn too dark. Also, skip spots where the sun don’t shine since tan soles or armpits are a dead giveaway.

LASTLY, shop for your favourite bikini!
Here’s a suggestion for My Little Secrets – our very own Reversible Bikini. Easy to wear, great for travel!
The halter bandeau is this year’s favourite!
